Reimagine Costume Resale offers a full-service consignment experience for pre-loved custom dance costumes.

Instead of spending hours sorting, photographing, measuring, pricing, listing, and responding to buyers, you can send your costumes our way and let us handle the resale process for you.

Getting Started Is Easy

If you have custom costumes you would like to sell, the first step is simply to reach out to us.

You don’t need to fill out a listing form or create individual submissions for every costume.

Just tell us a little about what you have — whether it’s a few solo costumes, an entire closet of past seasons, or a collection of matching group costumes — and we’ll coordinate next steps with you directly.

Getting Your Costumes to Reimagine

Once we connect, we’ll determine the easiest way to get your costumes to us.

Depending on your location and the size of the collection, we may coordinate:

• Drop-off
• Local pick-up
• Shipping

We work with many dancers, families, and studios in Canada and the U.S.A. while accepting costumes from sellers in Canada but outside the GTA through shipping.

We Review Everything for You

Once we receive your costumes, we go through the collection and determine which pieces we believe have the strongest resale potential.

You do not need to decide which costumes are worth listing beforehand.

We’ll assess things like:

• Costume condition
• Style and design
• Designer or costume maker
• Quality and detailing
• Age
• Versatility
• Current buyer demand

From there, we select the costumes we believe are the right fit for Reimagine.

Any costumes we decide not to consign will be returned to you.

We Prepare the Costumes We Select

For the costumes we believe we can sell, Reimagine handles the work.

We take care of:

• Cleaning
• Condition review
• Photography
• Preparing the online listing
• Pricing recommendations
• Marketing
• Buyer communication
• Answering questions
• Coordinating purchases
• Connecting costumes with dancers and studios

Our goal is to make reselling your costumes as hands-off as possible.

Pricing

Most sellers choose to have Reimagine determine the recommended resale price.

We use our experience selling custom costumes and consider factors such as original value, designer, condition, age, style, embellishment, uniqueness, and current demand.

Our recommended pricing is used by default and we believe is most fair and likely to sell.

If you would prefer to choose your own prices, you are welcome to do so. Please just explicitly let us know before your costumes are listed.

How the Consignment Split Works

When one of your costumes sells:

You receive 60% of the final sold price.
Reimagine receives 40%.

However, Reimagine’s commission is capped at $100 per costume.

For example:

• Costume sells for $100 → You receive $60
• Costume sells for $200 → You receive $120
• Costume sells for $300 → You receive $200
• Costume sells for $400 → You receive $300
• Costume sells for $500 → You receive $400

Once Reimagine reaches the $100 maximum commission, the remainder of the sale belongs to you.

Seller payments are sent by E-transfer after the sale is completed.

If you have multiple matching costumes, please mention that when you contact us. Sets and groups can be particularly helpful for the studios we work with.

We’ll connect with you directly to coordinate drop-off, pick-up, or shipping.

From there, we’ll review the costumes, select and photograph the pieces we believe we can successfully resell, and return any costumes we don’t move forward with.
